Tom Burton brings over 20 years of leadership experience across business, IT, and cyber security, including multiple C-suite roles. Known for translating complex security challenges into clear, actionable strategies, Tom works effectively with both boards and delivery teams to deliver sustainable business change.

Tom’s career began in 1993 as a Commissioned Officer in the British Army, rising to CIO of the HQ 1^st UK Armoured Division, where he was responsible for both the execution of business change and the management of enabling services, and ultimately leading the Business Change & Digital Transformation for the Command & Control Development centre in 2005.

In the private sector, Tom has held senior roles including Strategic Advisor to the Ministry of Defence CIO at Detica (now BAE Systems Applied Intelligence), Executive Manager for Defence Industrial Sector, and Global Head of Managed Security Services. He successfully grew businesses from under £1m to over £15m in orders and identified hundreds of millions in potential savings without compromising benefits.

Following this, Tom served as Director for Cyber Security at KPMG UK, leading multi-million-pound engagements across diverse sectors. He later co-founded Cyhesion, which merged with C2 Cyber (now C2 Risk) to deliver a SaaS platform transforming Third-Party Risk Management. Recognised by Gartner as one of the most complete solutions of its kind, the platform supports over 3,000 users globally and generates over £1.5m ARR.

In 2022, Tom founded Digility, providing security and digital transformation consultancy and interim management. Highlights include serving as Interim CISO at a Tier 1 Outsourced Service Provider, helping them recover from a major incident, and developing a SaaS solution enabling SMEs to maximise cloud value while maintaining strong security postures.

Tom’s extensive experience in cyber security, business change, and technology-driven efficiency makes him ideally suited to support Falklands businesses.
